Delay Update
We believe in keeping every customer fully informed. Here is everything you need to know about the current production delays affecting the forged wheel industry and what Gem Motorsports is doing about it.
What Is Happening
At Gem Motorsports, transparency with our customers has always come first. We want to share an important update that is currently affecting the entire forged wheel industry.
Raw material shortages are impacting forged wheel manufacturing at a broad level across the country. This is not isolated to a single brand or product line. Multiple major manufacturers are experiencing production backlogs and extended lead times as a direct result, and we want to make sure you have the full picture before reaching out about your order.
All orders placed through Gem Motorsports are actively in production. This update is about setting accurate expectations on timing, not cancellations or paused builds. Every order in our queue is being tracked and managed.
Who Is Impacted
This delay is touching virtually every major forged wheel manufacturer currently operating. The brands below are among those experiencing production slowdowns due to raw material constraints at the manufacturing level. This is an industry wide issue, not a problem specific to any one company.
How This Affects Your Build
Production timelines have been impacted across the board. Here is a straightforward breakdown of what that means at the order level and which factors determine how much your specific build is affected.
Build windows that would normally fall within the standard 5 to 6 week range may push further depending on your configuration and when your order entered the production queue.
Manufacturers are working through an active backlog. Orders are being fulfilled in sequence, but the volume of builds in queue has grown as material shortages slowed output at the source.
Custom finishes, specialty colors, and less common sizing combinations may see a larger delay than standard builds due to material availability at the time of production.
Certain size and offset combinations require materials that are currently in shorter supply. Our team will communicate directly with any customer whose order falls into this category.
In certain cases, particularly for custom finishes, uncommon fitments, or orders that entered the queue during peak backlog periods, lead times may extend into the 8 to 10 week range. We will contact any customer whose build falls into this window directly.
Our Commitment to You
The material shortages driving these delays are outside of our control. What is not outside of our control is how we show up for every customer during this time. We are not going to let an industry wide problem define your experience with Gem Motorsports.
If your order has been affected by an extended lead time, we encourage you to reach out to our team. We are committed to making it right and adding real value wherever we can.
Worth the Wait.
For customers whose orders are impacted by these extended delays, we are offering the following as a thank you for your patience and continued trust in Gem Motorsports.
If you would like an updated timeline on your build or want to discuss how the current delays affect your specific order, our team is ready to help. We will always give you a straight, honest answer.
